Mormormonologene supported by Midtnorsk Film & Fritt Ord

After a long winter of writing grant applications and hunting around for great people to take Mormormonologene further with, spring has finally arrived- with lots of great news!

Since the exhibition at GaGo in January, Mia Berner’s monologue traveled to Østfold Kunstnersenter in Fredrikstad for the opening of Østlandsutstillingen in March (it’s still on, run run run & see!), and will move on to Peder Balke Senter (Toten) in May.

I’ve also hooked up with Super Sarah (Winge-Sørensen) and we’ve worked our socks off to develop the concept further – from Mormor Monologues, the web project- to Mormormonologene, the documentary film! Just before Easter we got some brilliant news from Midtnorsk Filmsenter, who wants to support the project with funding for developing the film idea further, and together with our great producer, Carsten Aanonsen in Indie Film, we’re looking forward to a summer of producing a pilot.

Alongside developing the film idea there’s also a book idea taking shape, and I’m proud to announce that Fritt Ord (Freedom of Expression Foundation) is supporting Mormormonologene with a NOK 150.000 publication grant! Together with the book publisher  Press we’re now hoping to come up with sufficient funds to produce the book within 2010, and will be crossing fingers & toes for any other financing opportunities.. So if you have a penny left over for a good cause- no need to look further..

Finally the fabulous acting group SceneKNUST is working on the idea of a theatre play based on Mormormonologene – so do watch out- there’s a granny movement on the horizon!
